Note: Before you begin the installation process, make sure you have received all the necessary components and have read and understood the safety instructions provided with the PVC strip curtains.

Step 1: Measure and Mark

Using a tape measure, determine the width and height of the opening where the PVC strip curtains will be installed. Mark the desired height and width on the wall or doorway frame using a pencil or marker.

Step 2: Install the Hook-On Rail

Position the hook-on rail along the top of the marked width, ensuring that it is level. Mark the drill hole positions on the wall or doorway frame using a pencil. Pre-drill the holes at the marked positions, following the recommended drill bit size for your specific hook-on rail system. Attach the hook-on rail securely to the wall or doorway frame using screws and a screwdriver.

Step 3: Install the PVC Strips

Starting from one side of the opening, hang the first PVC strip into the hook-on rail. Leave the appropriate number of hooks depending on the size of strip and desired overlap then hang the next strip. Repeat this process until you reach the end of the rail. Then go back and fill the spaces between the first row of strips.

Step 4: Prepare the PVC Strips

Cut the PVC strips to the desired height. Use scissors or a utility knife to make clean, straight cuts. Ensure that the strips are between 10-20mm short of the floor to prevent them getting trapped.

Step 5: Overlap Options

Depending on your specific needs, you can choose from different overlap options for the PVC strips. The standard options are:

  • Full Overlap: In this option, each strip overlaps between 77% and 100% (depending on the size of strip), ensuring maximum insulation and protection from drafts.
  • Medium Overlap: For moderate temperature control requirements, you can choose to overlap each strip between 63% and 77% (depending on the size of strip). This option allows some visibility and easier passage through the doorway.
  • Standard Overlap: If visibility and accessibility are crucial, you can choose to overlap each strip between 63% and 77% (depending on the size of strip). This option provides the least insulation but allows maximum visibility and ease of movement.

Choose the desired overlap option and align the strips accordingly during the installation process.

Step 6: Final Adjustments

Once all the PVC strips are installed, make any necessary adjustments to ensure they are hanging straight and evenly spaced. Trim the bottom of the strips if required to ensure proper clearance from the floor.

Step 7: Test and Maintenance

After installation, test the PVC strip curtains by walking through the opening and observing their functionality. Make any necessary adjustments to ensure smooth movement and proper sealing. Periodically inspect the strips for damage or wear and replace any damaged strips promptly to maintain the effectiveness of the curtains.
