There are many commercial premises, such as warehouses, where it makes sense to keep a door to the outside open as this allows vehicles and pedestrians to enter and exit the building quickly. However, not all of these open doors currently have PVC strip curtains on them.
While having an open door to the outside might make sense for ease of access, it can make colder times, such as autumn and winter, more uncomfortable for your employees.
In these times of high energy costs, you need to be able to do something to help your employees at as low a charge to your business as possible.
Which is where plastic strip curtains come in. PVC strip curtains allow for easy access for pedestrians and vehicles but also protect your employees from the cold weather by maintaining the warmth inside.
This is achieved thanks to easily accessible PVC strips hung from a hanging plate or rail above the door opening. This allows employees or visitors to move the curtains aside quickly when they or a vehicle wants to pass through.
What type of PVC strip curtains are there?
Here at Strip Curtains Direct, we offer various PVC strip curtains for you to use in your commercial premises or warehouse. Each type of PVC curtain has its benefits, with different grades suited to different applications. Some of the most popular types we supply include:
Which hanging system should I use with my strip curtain?
We offer two different types of hanging systems dependent on your door style and different possible uses:
What size of PVC strip is best for my commercial premises or warehouse?
Our PVC strips start at a width and thickness of 200mm x 2mm, ideal for internal doors in non-windy areas and standard use levels.
However, once you add forklift trucks into the mix, you should increase the width of our PVC strips to 300mm.
High-use level openings and openings to the outside will need heavier-duty strips to maintain the overlap necessary to retain the chilled or heated air. So, you should look at a width of 300mm or 400mm and a thickness of 3mm to 4mm. Or alternatively, you could use the double ribbed strip curtains as these will also move less in windier environments, thanks to their extra weight.
How do PVC strip curtains help me to protect my employees?
You will get numerous benefits, including improved health and safety if you use PVC strip curtains in your warehouse or commercial premises. Other benefits include include reducing the influx of cold air, preventing the entry of birds and other vermin, and reducing the amount of dust and pollen in the air.
Here at Strip Curtains Direct, we offer and install a wide range of PVC strip curtains, PVC sheeting, crash doors and welding screens to help you protect your employees. Please contact us to find out more and discuss your requirements.
