The challenge
Behind every great beer is a smart setup — and for this Yorkshire brewery, that meant creating better separation across a busy production opening without disrupting day-to-day movement.
Brewery environments often require large internal openings to remain accessible for staff, cleaning, equipment movement, and production tasks. But open access points can also make it harder to manage airflow, reduce draughts and maintain clear separation between working zones.
The customer needed a flexible barrier that could improve the working environment while still allowing people and equipment to pass through easily.
Why PVC strip curtains were the right fit
Clear PVC strip curtains were a practical choice for this brewery because they helped separate the production area without restricting access.
In a working brewery, staff often need to move between areas with equipment, ingredients, cleaning materials or tools. The space needs to stay accessible, but large open doorways can also allow draughts and unwanted airflow to move through the building.
For this installation, 300mm x 3mm clear PVC was selected to provide a durable, flexible barrier suited to regular use. The clear strips maintained visibility between spaces, helping staff see activity on both sides of the opening before passing through.
Unlike a fixed door, the curtain allowed hands-free access through the opening. Once staff or equipment passed through, the PVC strips returned to position, helping the brewery maintain better separation without interrupting workflow.
The solution installed
Strip Curtains Direct supplied and installed a clear 300mm x 3mm PVC strip curtain across a wide internal opening at the Yorkshire brewery.
The curtain was fitted between the production space and an adjoining access area, creating full coverage across the doorway while keeping the route easy to use. This gave the brewery a simple barrier that suited the pace of a busy drinks production environment.
The finished installation helped create a more controlled separation around the opening, while still allowing staff and equipment to move through smoothly. For a brewery setting, it was a practical upgrade: clear, durable, low maintenance, and designed to keep operations flowing.
The result
The finished installation gave the brewery a practical, low-maintenance barrier suited to a busy production environment.
